About Us

VaultletSoft: who are we, where are we,
and what can we do for you?

Who are we?

VaultletSoft and the VaultletSuite were founded and created by R. P. Ruiz, a security engineer, analyst & privacy advocate with an intense drive to make effective levels of security fathomable and available to anybody.

Here's his blog and bio.

Where in the physical world are we?

VaultletSoft is located in Washington D.C., but we can be wherever you need us to be, given proper notice and expense coverage. Go here to contact us.

Why do we exist?

VaultletSoft exists to protect your privacy and preserve your peace of mind, both on and off line, by providing you with solutions that are as easy to use as they are secure.

What do we do for individuals & business?

VaultletSoft makes it easy for you to protect and control your valuable information.

We accomplish this with our software and services.

What do we do for NGOs, Human Rights groups, the Press and educational institutions?

We make it safer for you to speak truth (or have a dissenting opinion) under adverse or repressive conditions.

We also gladly support your work by offering free licensing of our software.

Fundamental Premises

There are four fundamental premises that underly how and what we're doing for you at VaultletSoft:

1) Cryptography is known as the science of insanely difficult math.

Using it shouldn't be.

2) Individuals and businesses alike have a constitutional and intuitive right to, and need for, privacy; to know that their data and electronic communications are secure and are verifiably authentic; to determine how long their email lives; and to determine whether it is printed, forwarded or archived.

Who said that every message must be a very public postcard?

3)
In the security world, absolutes have little value; they're only points on a continuum.
Anybody who sells you absolutes e.g., "bullet-proof" security are selling snake oil. Caveat emptor!

4) Privacy and security decisions involve establishing an informed balance between security and convenience; also between fine grained control decisions and simplicity.

The implications of this premise are important: while you most assuredly can't have everything want, you may have what you value most.
