I can't install VS2Go to my USB
drive after I choose that type of install because the installer
keeps trying to put it in my /Users/MY_OSX_ACCOUNT/VaultletSuite2Go
directory. How do I proceed?
This is a small bug in the installer utility, which
can be easily worked around: Once you've chosen to install to
your USB device, you need to manually specify where your USB drive
is connected when you get to the "Select Destination Directory"
step in the installation wizard.
Click on the "Browse" button which appears
next to the "Destination directory information to lookup
your USB device. You'll need to know and/or recognize the name
associated with your USB device to tell the installer where you
want it to put the VS2Go. On OSX, this usually starts with "/Volumes/YOUR_USB_DEVICE/".
Once you've found it and selected your USB device
and clicked on the "Okay" button, make sure to add "VaultletSuite2Go"
to the end of the installation path so that it looks like this:
"/Volumes/YOUR_USB_DEVICE/VaultletSuite2Go".
Once you've done that, you're good to go: Click
on the "Next" button to finish up.

I'm unable to open the required
updater utility for the new version 2.4 (that the VS2Go recently
downloaded for me) with Stuffit, nor can I mount it with DiskImageMounter.
I'm stuck! What now?
You shouldn't need to use Stuffit with the updater
utility, the DiskImageMounter should handle this for you.
(2008.01.22) This just in:
The problem is caused by an extra space (e.g.: " " )
being inadvertently added to the end of the downloaded file's
name. Here's how to fix it:
Remove the extra space that's been added to the
end of the updater program, so that it ends with "...macos_2_4_x_0.dmg"
instead of "...macos_2_4_x_0.dmg ". Removing
that extra space should make all the difference.
You should be able to find the Updater file in your
home folder (/Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/vaultletsoft). When you
try to remove the extra trailing space from the Updater's name,
you'll be asked if you "Are sure you want to add the extension
".dmg" to the end of the name?". You should click
on "Add" in response.
Once you've renamed the file, you should be able
to mount it by double clicking it. Once it's mounted, double click
the VaultletSuite2Go Updater icon to start the updater utility.
If renaming the Updater file doesn't work for you
(or you're not interested in renaming Updater file), then you
can simply download the latest
installer and reinstall the VS2Go.

I'm getting "Launch Errors"
after updating the VaultletSuite 2 Go on a computer which I share
with others (who also use the VaultletSuite). What to do?
This is caused by a file read/write permissions
conflict that arose from our assumption that the /Users/shared
directory was world read and writeable. This is, apparently, not
the case.
With the release of version 2.4.1, our installation
strategy has changed for OSX: Since the actual installation is
quite small, each user now gets their own copy installed in their
home directory.
In order to remedy this problem, uninstall the previously
shared installation (by double clicking on the "Uninstall"
application), and then download
and install the latest version.

The installer wants to install the application
to /Users/shared/Applications/VaultletSuite2Go. Why don't you
just install it to the standard OSX /Applications directory?
The cross platform installer that we're currently
using doesn't support the administrative authentication that we
need to install to the /Applications folder.
If you prefer to install to the /Applications folder,
you should be able to login as your computer's administrator and
then re-run the installer.
(2007.12.29) Note: version
2.4.1's default installation directory has changed and is explained
by the previous FAQ entry (right above this one) found here.
